Luca Paws for iPhone and Apple Watch. Last updated October 10, 2026.

Short version: Luca Paws doesn't collect anything. Your data stays on your iPhone, your dog's Apple Watch and your own private iCloud, which only you can see. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no servers of ours.

What the app stores, and where

Your dog's profile and photo, your contact details for the ID tag, motion recordings, labels, diary entries, care routines, vet records, documents and trip plans are saved on your iPhone. Motion recorded on your dog's watch reaches your iPhone in two ways: over Apple's watch connection, and through your own private iCloud database, so recordings still arrive when your iPhone is paired with your own watch. Your iPhone deletes each recording from iCloud once it has saved it. The watch also puts a small status note there (whether it's recording, its battery and how much is waiting to send). Your private iCloud database is stored by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and counts toward your iCloud storage. I can't see it, and nothing is sent to me or anyone else.

Permissions

You can turn any of these off in iOS Settings.

Sharing

Data leaves your phone only when you choose to share it, for example by exporting a CSV, sharing a document or showing the ID QR code. Vet searches go to Apple Maps under Apple's privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Delete the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch and everything it stored on them is removed. To clear anything still waiting in iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Storage, Luca Paws, and delete its data.

Children

The app isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
